The Lord is your Glory and Strength

ree

Are you feeling depressed? Are you wondering what to do next? Let us turn to the Word of God together, for in it you will find an answer. Psalm 89:17 says, “For you are the glory of their strength; by your favour our horn is exalted.” Many people go through life burdened by disgrace, feeling low, hopeless, and depressed. Perhaps your situation feels the same. But the Lord declares, “My child, I am your strength and your glory. My favour rests upon you, and I will anoint you so that you may lift up your head and be exalted.” Though many are crushed in spirit, the Lord tells them not to fear, for He Himself will raise them up. Praise the Lord! Thank you, Jesus. All glory and honour to Jesus forever and ever. Amen.

The Lord promises, “When you are weighed down by life’s challenges, by sickness, or by troubles, I will lift you up and cause you to experience progress in every area of your life.” This assurance is certain, for God has promised to pour out His Spirit on all who seek Him, giving visions, dreams, and prophecies (Acts 2:17).

By the power of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we are exalted. But just as the Holy Spirit is poured out, the enemy also seeks to pour out his evil spirit, bringing bondage, obstacles, addictions, sickness, and division. Yet when those who are oppressed by the devil seek the Spirit of God, they are empowered to overcome every chain of darkness. For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is true freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).

Many people today are trapped in addictions—gambling, drugs, alcohol—unable to break free because they lack the strength to resist. One man, enslaved to alcohol for 45 years, came to Logos for a retreat. Though he had tried countless times to quit, he always failed. But during the anointing session, he received the power of the Holy Spirit, and in that moment, he was set free. The Spirit gave him the strength to say a firm ‘No’ to alcohol.

In the same way, God also exalts His children in their personal lives and families. Lovie Fernandes from Mumbai shares her testimony: “My son was blessed with a placement at Birmingham University after two years of waiting. My son Jervis completed his Ph.D. two years ago and had been searching for a research placement in his field ever since. I was anxious and prayed daily, sending requests to Fr Jose and faithfully attending the 3 o’clock adoration. Three months ago, during prayer, Fr Jose announced, ‘Jervis, the Lord has blessed you; your intention will be fulfilled.’ Within a month, Jervis was called for an interview, and today he is placed at Birmingham University!” This shows us how the Lord lifts up those who wait upon Him.

Another beautiful testimony comes from Barretto, who says: “My mother was healed from microscopic haematuria. She was passing blood in her urine and underwent several tests, including blood tests, urine tests, X-rays, ECG, CT KUB, cytology, and finally cystoscopy. It was a very stressful time for me. I sent a prayer request to Logos and also prayed in the 24/7 prayer tower, repeatedly crying out, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on my mother.’ I also prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Jesus heard my prayers, and all her test results came back normal.” Truly, when we cry out to the Lord in faith, He hears and answers.

Perhaps you, too, are weighed down by family struggles, financial problems, health concerns, or spiritual bondages. Take courage—the anointing of the Holy Spirit can break every yoke and set you free. As the Lord declares in Jeremiah 30:8: “On that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will break his yoke from off your neck, and I will burst your bonds, and strangers shall no more make a servant of him.” Remember, we are called to live in the freedom of Christ—in our families, in our finances, in our relationships, in our worship, and in our very identity. “For freedom Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1). But this freedom cannot be experienced without the power of the anointing.

If you hold firmly to the promise of Psalm 89:17, you and your family will be anointed to overcome every difficulty. The anointing gives courage to face trials and strength to conquer them—just as David, under the anointing, defeated Goliath (1 Samuel 17:48). For in Christ we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). We are not slaves to problems but victors in Him. With Christ, we can overcome any sickness, fear, or worry. I believe with confidence that in Jesus, you will rise above your present and future struggles and live a blessed life in Him.

So once again, read and claim the promise of Psalm 89:17. Whenever problems seem overwhelming, pray for a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit, and you will experience His power to overcome.

Now extend your hands toward the altar and place all your intentions at the feet of Jesus. Believe that during the hour of mercy, between 3 and 4 p.m., your prayers will be heard. In the name of Jesus, I pray that every intention you bring before Him may be fulfilled for the greater glory of God. Amen.
