The Lord says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8). All the promises that you believe and ask the Lord to fulfill are effective and fruitful. All those who treasure the Word of God in their hearts cannot be touched by the devil. In fact, he is afraid of those who keep the Word in their hearts. When you keep the Word of God in your heart, God is near to you and lives in you. If the Word is in you, black magic cannot affect you, nor can the devil. When the devil wants to attack you, he first robs the Word of God from your heart (Mark 4:15). Satan is not literally like a bird, but he comes into your mind to make you forget the Word of God and the promises attached to it, so that you will not be able to remember them. This is how the devil begins to destroy people. God has given you promises through His Word so that they may be everlasting in your life. What God has promised will remain in your life forever.

So what does Isaiah 40:8 mean? When you believe in the Word of God, the promise attached to the Word will come into existence in your life. Abraham believed in the promise given by God, even though he did not see it fulfilled (Romans 4:17). He believed in God’s ability to bring that promise into reality in his life (Romans 4:21).

We have some wonderful testimonies of people who believed in the promises of the Word of God, and it worked for them and is still working in their lives. Delfi Roque suffered for 26 long years from a low platelet disorder. He was under medication for 17 years. Since 2024, he has been attending Logos Voice TV online regularly. This year, the doctors advised him to stop the medication as his platelets had become normal. For 17 long years he was taking medicines, but once he repeatedly prayed the Word of God, “Jesus, Son of David, ever-living God, have mercy on me” (Mark 10:47), his problem ceased to exist. All glory and honour to Jesus forever and ever. Amen.

Another testimony proves that the Word of God is everlasting. Effy Barbosa from Goa says that her husband Monico suffered from severe bladder pain and frequent urination for almost three years. He even had to wear adult diapers while travelling. When they attended the 3 o’clock ministry online, his urinary incontinence was healed. She and her husband have now come to the Logos Retreat Centre for a thanksgiving retreat. Thus, the Word of God brings everlasting blessing into your lives. It means that the Word of God is effectively working in you yesterday, today, and forever.

Why is the Word of God effective in your life? Because someone is holding your right hand. Who is that person? It is the Lord, who promises in Isaiah 41:10 and 45:1: “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will uphold you with my victorious right hand”; “Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped…” Above all, Jesus embraces you with His right hand (Song of Songs 2:6 ).

So from now on, you will have victory after victory in the name of Jesus, because the Word of God you listen to begins to work in you. As St. Paul says, “We also constantly give thanks to God for this, that when you received the Word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God’s Word, which is also at work in you who believe” (1 Thessalonians 2:13). In the same way, as I preach from this altar and you listen and believe in the Word of God, it begins to work in you ("who confirms the word of his servant and fulfils the prediction of his messengers" - Isaiah 44:26a).

Extend your hand towards the altar and offer all your intentions. In the name of Jesus, I pray over all your intentions. May the Lord answer your prayers, touch you, and heal you of all your ailments. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
