you have brought us out to a spacious place

Relax and look to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Each of you can behold the beauty in the face of the Lord and “taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8). We are gathered in this moment to experience how good our Lord truly is.

Today’s promise word comes from Psalm 66:12: “You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a spacious place.” In other words: “You allowed us to go through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of abundance.”

This verse recalls the Lord’s saving acts throughout salvation history. Just as He led Israel safely through the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21–22) and preserved the three young men in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:25–27), He continues to deliver His children today. The trials we face are never the end of the story. Scripture assures us that “weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning” (Psalm 30:5). Even when we feel hard pressed on every side, we are reminded that “we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9).

Some may wonder why they face unending problems in life while others seem untouched. This promise gives us the answer. It is not the Lord who brings fire and flood into our lives, but the evil one who creates such situations. Yet God, in His wisdom, permits them so that greater good may come forth, for “we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Here are a few testimonies that bear witness to the goodness of the Lord when we trust Him against all odds. Each of these individuals went through fire and flood in their lives, yet the Lord brought them into a spacious place.

Teresa Perriera from Mangalore shares that she was fighting a land tribunal case for the past 16 years. In February 2025, she attended a five-day retreat and began praying the SEP prayer, along with joining the 3 p.m. online adoration. On 3rd September 2025, she received a favorable court order. Her three-month-old grandson was healed of COVID-19, and her two-year-old grandson was healed of seizures. She herself was also healed from varicose veins and sciatic pain.

Magdaline Umdor from Shillong, Meghalaya testifies: “I was saved from surgery and received a favorable biopsy report. I had developed a large cyst and lump, which doctors suspected to be life-threatening. They advised a biopsy, followed by surgery. During this time of waiting, I sent a prayer request to Fr. Jose, prayed the ICU prayers, and joined the 3 p.m. online adoration. During one adoration, Fr. Jose announced that someone was being set free from surgery and that cysts and abnormal cells were being washed away by the precious Blood of Jesus. I claimed it for myself. Later, the doctors confirmed the biopsy was negative, and surgery was no longer required. I was filled with joy, praising God, and I have attached the medical reports as proof.”

Helena Varghese testifies: “I was healed from delusion, which I had suffered for 11 years. After attending a residential retreat at Logos Retreat Centre and participating daily in Holy Adoration, I am now completely healed.”

Richard from Bangalore says: “I am blessed with a better job and a promotion. My employer wanted me to relocate to another city, which would have separated me from my children and family. Trusting in Jesus, I resigned without having another job lined up. I continued preparing for interviews and faithfully joined the Divine Mercy Chaplet on Logos Voice at 3 p.m., followed by adoration. The Lord heard my prayer once again. He blessed me with a better job, a good salary increase, and a higher position, all while remaining in Bangalore.”

Dear brothers and sisters, these beautiful testimonies remind us that no matter what fire or flood we pass through, the Lord is always with us, ready to bring us into a spacious place filled with His love, healing, and peace. Let us never lose hope, for His promises are true and His goodness endures forever.

And now, I pray that Jesus may bless you and your families. May He fill your hearts with His peace, strengthen you in your struggles, and surprise you with His abundant blessings. May every trial you face become a testimony of His love, and may you always walk in the joy of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord bless you and keep you always, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
