Where Does God Choose to Live?

Today the Lord gives us a wonderful promise concerning the throne of God. Do you know where God dwells? Where does He live? God dwells in the hearts of those who are humble, repentant, and filled with praise. Today’s promise word is taken from Isaiah 57:15: “For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Though God lives in a high and lofty place, He also comes down to dwell in hearts that are contrite and lowly in spirit. Lift up your voice and read the promise word - Isaiah 57:15 again.

God resides in a heart that has the humility to accept the truth and the willingness to repent and reconcile with Him and with others. God dwells in the praises of His people, proving that those with a humble heart can truly praise Him. Therefore, God is found in the hearts of the humble. The Devil cannot praise God; only the humble can. Psalm 22:3 proclaims that God is enthroned on the praises of His people. All glory and honour to our Lord Jesus for His wonderful and awesome presence among us. Because of His presence, many are healed of their ailments.
I know you are troubled about your health, finances, uncertain future, blocks, bondages, and other causes of anxiety. Scripture says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Ps. 34:19a). The Devil tempts you and brings ordeals so that you may renounce your faith and run away from God. At times he even stops persecuting you for a while, making you believe that your problems disappear when you stop praying. This is his deceit to keep you from prayer and from trusting in Jesus. But what does the Lord do when the Devil afflicts you? The Word assures us, “The Lord rescues them from them all” (Ps. 34:19b). Therefore, never stop praying when troubles increase; rather, intensify your prayers, just as Jesus did: “In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission” (Heb 5:7). Truly, God dwells in the hearts of those who live with faith, humility, repentance, and reconciliation.
Agnes Wadia shares the testimony of her 19-year-old son, Aaron, who suffered a brain stroke affecting his left eye, right hand, and speech. Doctors advised hospitalisation and warned that recovery would take time. Heartbroken, she turned to Jesus in prayer, and together with her family began watching Logos Voice TV and reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet. During this time, she heard Fr Jose declare, “Aaron, your right hand is being healed. Jesus has healed you.” Agnes testifies that from that day onward her son began to recover, and now he is completely healed. Her story shows that when we pray with humility, repentance, and praise, our prayers are assuredly answered.
Malcolm Fernandes from Pune gives another amazing testimony—of recovery from brain surgery, deliverance from anxiety, avoidance of prostate surgery, and a good job for his daughter—all received through prayer and by attending Logos Voice TV online. Today he attends a five-day retreat in thanksgiving for the favours received from our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

When the Lord says in Isaiah 66:2 that He looks for people who are humble, contrite in spirit, and who tremble at His word, He is revealing the kind of dwelling place He desires. Though heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool, He does not delight in lofty buildings or external appearances but in hearts that are lowly and open to Him. A humble person acknowledges dependence on God, a contrite spirit repents sincerely, and one who trembles at His word holds His promises with deep reverence and obedience.
This beautifully ties in with the message of the promise word from Isaiah 57:15, which assures us that God comes down to dwell with those who are lowly in heart. The testimonies of Agnes and Malcolm confirm this truth—healing, deliverance, and blessings flowed not from human strength but from simple, humble prayer, repentance, and trust in God’s presence. The Devil tries to deceive us by making us stop praying, but the Lord looks for precisely the opposite—hearts that cling to Him in faith, lift their voices in praise, and bow before His word.
Therefore, Isaiah 66:2 reminds us that God is not distant or unreachable. He is closest to those who live in humility, repentance, and reverence, and in such hearts He makes His dwelling, bringing healing, peace, and restoration.
Let us join Mother Mary, who said, “…for He has looked with favour on the lowly state of His servant” (Lk 1:48), and strive to be humble in heart. On this day of her nativity, we seek her intercession and example of humility. As St Paul proclaims in Galatians 2:20, “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” All who humble themselves will have Christ living within them.
Let us now make the sign of the cross: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” I pray for the intentions of all who have sent their requests by SMS, WhatsApp, email, and spoken word. May the Lord hear every prayer for His greater glory. Amen.
